Join us for an evening of delicious authentic Cajun food, drink and camaraderie, followed by music form a live band for your listening and dancing pleasure. Our meeting place for the unique party is the great new west suburban hotspot, the French Quarter New Orleans Kitchen.

Located in the former home of Sequel (and before that Bistro Banlieu), the interior for French Quarter has been completely re-done. It is a very appealing and upbeat ambiance in keeping with its New Orleans theme. This exciting new restaurant serves up food prepared using organic and locally-raised ingredients, with authentic Cajun, Creole and French influences. Even the bread is baked in-house.

Gather, mix and mingle with other single friends, old and new, during a get-acquainted cocktail hour (cash bar) in the restaurant's inviting lounge area. This is followed by a seated dinner in our own private space with your choice of the following taste-tempting entrées:

• Tilapia with Anson Mill Grits and String Beans with Brown Butter Sauce
• Strip Steak with Pomme Frites and Andouille Gravy
• Heirloom Red Beans and Carolina Gold Rice with Andouille Sausage
• Blackened Chicken Breast with Dirty Rice and String Beans

Also included are appropriate sides and your choice of Garden Salad, Soup or Gumbo along with post-dinner coffee or tea.

Your entire evening is $40, for the dinner, entertainment, taxes and tips for advance registrations. While advance reservations are very much encouraged, walk-ups will be accepted as space permits for $41 cash at the door. Dressy casual attire. Park in the lot.

Gourmet Connections and New Single Friends host a "Year of the Dragon" family-style "Chinese New Year Feast" at Szechwan Kingdom. This charming restaurant is located in a small strip mall on Waukegan Road between Lake-Cook and Dundee Roads. It has captured excellent ratings among the foodie sites and is among the top Chinese restaurants in the northern suburbs.

Gather with single friends old and new in intimate surroundings. Szechwan Kingdom is known for wonderful food and a wide variety of savory dishes. It serves up a variety of favorite traditional cuisines from throughout China, not just the Szechuan province. And, although it is the "Year of the Dragon," we will be serving fish, chicken, beef and shrimp, with not a dragon in sight.

Upon arriving, you'll be directed to our dining table on the party room, where you meet up with the other diners and open the wine or other beverages brought to the feast.

After a short get-acquainted period, we will be seated to enjoy a variety of flavorful dishes for traditional Chinese family-style dining. This dinner feast atmosphere and superb cuisine make a great backdrop for sharing food, wine, warm conversation and camaraderie.

This Valentine's weekend, escape to the romance of Italy with a singles cocktail party and dinner dance. Mingle and socialize with other singles (including perhaps your next Valentine) at the brand new Navarro's of Naperville in the Country Lakes Golf Club just off Diehl Road, a block west of Route 59.

Kick off your holiday weekend in style with the culinary pleasures of Navarro's of Naperville, an intimate and accomplished trattoria in a country club setting. When you enter, just go to the lower level bar area where you will be greeted for the cocktail party (cash bar) that begins your special evening.

At 8:00, we will be seated for a family-style Italian dinner featuring five courses (four entrées). The restaurant's owner, Jerry Navarro, was named by NBC as one of their top 100 chefs in Chicago. He was also a finalist in the Chopping Block competition. Jerry's enticing Neapolitan cuisine has generated impressive kudos from area diners and is served in a very inviting atmosphere perfect for this holiday weekend getaway.

After dinner, we will adjourn to the main lounge for dancing to live music from the popular area band, "Love and Money."
